CurrencyCentral is a small, independent project. We believe foreign exchange data should be free, fast, and free of hidden margins.
Why we built it
Most currency converters either bury rates behind aggressive ads, mark them up with hidden spreads, or stuff your inbox with newsletters you never asked for. We wanted something simpler: a clean utility that loads fast, shows the real mid-market rate, and gets out of the way.
Where our data comes from
All exchange rates are published by the European Central Bank as their daily reference rates, and we retrieve them through the open Frankfurter API. These are mid-market rates — the midpoint between buy and sell prices in the wholesale market. They are the cleanest reference number available for free.

A note on accuracy
Mid-market rates are reference values. The rate you actually pay when sending or receiving money will include a spread set by your bank, broker, or payments provider. CurrencyCentral is for information only and does not constitute financial advice.
